Template #3

So, I've found a new hobbie - templates! Seriously, these are fun to make. And I hope you are getting some use out of them too! This template, I've added a couple of extra things - I have added a glass layer, to make your ornament look shiny. I've also added the ornament hanger in both silver and gold, as well as in a regular template layer, so you have multiple options there. For the avatar, after I finished the tag, I merged the ornament layers together and copied and pasted them as a new layer, cropped and resized to the size I needed.
Click the preview to download, the zip has the template in both .pspimage and .psd formats.

Another forum sized tag template - this one is definitely a Christmas template. It's very simple, but I hope you find it useful nonetheless!

My First Template :)

So, I decided to try my hand at template making, since those seem to be so popular now. I like using templates, but I really enjoy making forum sets and there don't seem to be any templates for forum sized tags. Soooo, I made one. LOL This template is 250 pixels high and 550 pixels wide. I would LOVE to see what you do with it! In the zip file, there is one template in .pspimage format and one in .psd format, so everyone should be able to use it.

Here is a quick tag I made using the template above. I was going to animate it, but my computer is being all wonky. But, it should still give you an example of what you can do, using just a tube and PSP, no scrapkits used this time...

Winter Forest Element Pack 1

Finally an element pack to go with my Winter Forest kit! The roses and heart charms have been resized 50% for the previews. Drop shadows on the preview only.
Click the preview to download - hope you like it!

Winter Forest Kit - Penguin Character

Hello all! I have my newest addition to my Winter Forest kit - a cute little penguin that I made. I am so proud of this little guy, so I hope you like him! He comes with a party hat, a bow tie, a scarf, a top hat, and a necklace (in case you want him to be a her LOL!) - there is a light and dark version of each item, matching the blues used in the kit. Each item is on it's own layer. He is created at 300 dpi, and is approximately 400x500 pixels.
He is for personal use only - do not add him to any kit or redistribute him in any way - please!
My terms (included on the tube) are that you credit me as ©j0eswife if you use Pengu as the main character on your tag, but if you use him as an accent or with other artist's work, no credit is necessary.
Click the preview to download, you will have a choice of .pspimage file or .psd file.

Winter Forest - Snowflake Elements

Here is an element pack for my current kit - Winter Forest. There will be at least one more element pack, I just had way too many elements to fit into one preview LOL. The big snowflakes and the glass beads have been resized 50% for the preview, the small snowflakes are actual size. The big snowflakes could be used as tag backs, or resized and used as accents. I try to keep my elements on the large size, so that digi-scrappers can use them, as well as taggers. :)

All files are .png format.
Click the preview to download (sorry the preview is so lame!).

So, here is the first part of this kit - 12 silk papers - 2 designs in each of the kit's 6 colors. They are 700x700, and 300 dpi. They are saved as .png files.

Ribbons are 300dpi, 424x667 pixels and are saved in .png format.

Preview is of one ribbon - there are 6 total, 1 in each of the 6 colors shown below. Want to know what each color stands for? Check out this site.

New kit - Lotus - is here!

I had a lot of fun with this kit, and hope to do a couple of add-ons for it soon. The colors are inspired by the lotus, which then inspired the Indian / Hindi theme. The artistic / photographic elements in this kit are based on images either in the public domain or that allow this kind of usage - so you can use these elements with peace of mind. :) I hope you enjoy the kit, and if you download please leave me some love - preferrably here on my blog AFTER you open up the kit and see what it's all about LOL.
This kit is available ONLY in tagger's size. Papers are 600x600 at 72 dpi. Elements are larger than a lot of other tag elements, around 350x350 or so for most of them, so that you have the option of using them in different ways.
There are tons of papers and elements and even frames this time, much much more that what is shown in the preview. Dropshadows for preview only, and elements in preview are 50% actual size.
Enjoy! Click the preview to download

New kit coming soon!

I have finally finished my newest kit - Lotus - now all I have to do is make the previews. Previews take me forever (and I'm still not very good at them!), so it will probably be tomorrow before I get the kit up. But I did want to go ahead and whet your appetite, so I am posting the color palette and a mask I created to go with the kit. The kit is full of stuff, but I do plan on making a couple of add-ons for it because it has been so much fun! I am hoping to also do a spin off kit, still with the Indian / Hindu flavor, but using a different color palette - so I sure hope you like this one! :)
Anyway - this is the color palette for "Lotus"
And here is the mask - just right click and save to your mask folder!

New kit - Lorikeet

This kit was inspired by a trip to the Nashville Zoo, where my son got to feed lorikeets. We are so glad Nashville added the Lorikeets - we have loved these exhibits at other zoos. The lorikeets are so pretty with their vivid colors, I thought they offered a great color palette for a new kit. :)
As always, papers are included ONLY with the tagger sized kit, as they are only 72dpi.
Previews don't show everything in the kit, there are loads more elements, including 3 bow designs in each color!

Donation Button

I have added a donation button on the right. I originally got into making the kits in hopes of eventually selling them and earning a little money (I have to support my PSP addiction somehow lol). I am a SAHM mom, and we all know that the cost of living is moving up higher than wages right now. But for now, I like making the free kits, so I figured I'd keep doing that and just throw that donation button up there. If you want to leave a $1 or $2 I appreciate it very very very much, but if you can't or don't feel the need to donate - I love you equally! :) Any money donated will first be used to buy some commercial use bows and elements that I kind of suck at making, and after that put towards my real life needs and wants...
THANKS!

New Kit - Orchids

So - I like to cruise sxc.hu looking at the pictures waiting to be inspired. I stumbled across a picture of beautiful orchids and viola - inspiration :) I still don't like / am not too good at making frames, but there are about a half dozen in the kit. One is included both as a PNG and as a PSP file, in case you want to utilize the layers.
I am still playing around with the elements, trying some different stuff. I tried making a ribbon, but wasn't too thrilled with it. I threw it in the kit, but didn't make any more. So, all that to say that the kits are a work in progress, and any advice, pointers, and/or constructive criticism is welcome!
Once again, papers are in the tagger sized kit only, as they are only 600x600 and 72 dpi. There are a few papers not included in the previews. And of course, I didn't preview the frames again. :) Dropshadows are only on the previews.

Click here to download the tagger sized kit.

What's "tagger sized"?

Because it was asked - let me answer :)
Tagger sized papers are generally 600x600 (sometimes a little bigger), and 72 dpi. They are used by those of us who make signature tags, and are not suitable for printing out and scrapbooking with. I think they could be used for smaller scale digital scrapbooking, but since I don't digi-scrap, I can't stay for sure.
I tried making the larger papers, but it makes my program run sooooooooooo slowly, I just gave up. :(
Hope that helps!
(All my files are saved as .png so they can be used in Paint Shop or Photo Shop.)

Vino de frutas Mini-Kit

I have a new minikit for you, but first I have a favor to ask - can you please oh please go to youtube and watch this video and leave a comment / rate it. It's for a challenge I am doing for an online support group I am in. If you know anyone who is married to / dating a law enforcement officer, have them check us out at www.policewives.org

So, I just kinda lost interest in this kit, so I decided to share what I have done. I love the elements, but just couldn't get any mojo for the papers or frames. :( There are more elements than what are shown in the preview - same designs, just more color choices. You can download just the elements, which are higher resolution for scrappers, or the papers and elements minikit, which is designed with taggers in mind. Drop shadows on preview only.

Feel free to share the link to my blog through any groups or with your friends, but please do not share the download link. Also, please do not share my kits, in full or in part. If you know someone that would like it, just send them here please. THANKS!

Tutorial using my May Color Challenge kit

Well, nothing new today, but I am working on a new scrap kit. This one is taking my awhile because I can't get my mojo. lol I thought I was inspired, but now I'm thinking I may put this idea on the back burner and start on a new one, IDK. Anyway, I wanted to let you guys know that I do have a tutorial up using my May Color Challenge kit. You can find it here:

http://tutsbyj0eswife.webs.com/colorsofmay.htm

Here's what your result might look like :)

Just Beachy - Alpha

I have created an Alpha to go along with the Just Beachy kit. I probably won't do many alphas because I personally don't use them, but I thought this beach scene was screaming to be made into letters! :) I have included the font that the alpha is based on (which is okay per the font creators TOU) in case you want to use it in your tags / scrapbooking. The alphas are 200dpi, and roughly 400x400.

Feel free to share the link to my blog through any groups or with your friends, but please do not share the download link - thanks!

Just Beachy - Add On

This is just a little add on for the Just Beachy kit. There are 5 glass elements - a shark, a dolphin, a stingray, a fish, and a whale. I am working on an Alpha which I hopefully will have up tomorrow. But for now, I have got to get some sleep :) In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the add on. :)

"Just Beachy" Freebie

Okay, I am completely addicted to making scrapkits - especially elements. I have some programs on free trial, and I am dreading the day I can't play with them anymore! Oh well, until then I will be busy on the PC, especially if we keep getting such rainy days here!

Today I wanted to work on something summery, which led me to a picture of the beach. I did not do a preview of the frames, but the tagger kit has 20 or so, and the full size kit has a dozen or so.

Elements are larger than in the preview, and all files are .png files (all my kits are).....

Again, there are no papers in the full size kit, sorry but my PC just won't let me...

A new kit in honor of Police Week

Today is National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, when we should all take a moment to remember the countless law enforcement officers who have given their lives protecting ours. Last year, 187 officers died in the line of duty - that's over one every two days. You may think of them as the guys that write tickets, but to many of us they are husbands, fathers, and friends. They help little old ladies who have fallen in their homes, women who have been battered, children who have been abused, as well as policing the streets to keep them safe for you and me. Did you know that when an officer pulls you over - it's not actually because he is out to get you?! Officers catch many dangerous criminals through routine traffic stops, not to mention countless numbers of drunken drivers.

This week is known as "Police Week," and thousands will gather in Washington DC to honor those who have fallen. Do me a favor - this week when you see a cop - instead of thanking God that you didn't get pulled over, why don't you instead ask God to protect that officer and to bring them safely home to their family.

So, in honor of them, I decided to do my next freebie in "Blues." You can get it tagger sized, or at 300dpi. However - the 300dpi kit does NOT include any papers (and not all the frames and elements), my PC just can't handle those massive images.

The preview doesn't show everything, and drop shadows are on the preview only. Elements in the preview are resized 60%.

Thanks for looking and remember to say a prayer today for the boys in blue.
